The five-song EP will be the indie icon’s first release since 2009.
According to Slicing Up Eyeballs, Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins infamy will be releasing a 12″ EP of new music for this year’s Record Store Day cash grab on April 23. The music, which will be released under the Sun’s Signature moniker, was recorded with Fraser’s partner Damon Reece (Lupine Howl, Massive Attack, Spiritualized).
The EP, which will be issued by Partisan Records, will feature five songs and will be Fraser’s first release since 2009’s Moses single. Watch Fraser’s performance of one of the EP’s songs, Underwater, right here right now below.
Though I loathe the mercenary concept, I feel compelled to tell you that other artists represented by Record Store Day exclusives in 2022 include Angelo Badalamenti, Everything But the Girl, Prince, The Rain Parade, and Scott Walker. You can view the full list of RSD releases here.
